69th Scouts complete Outdoor Challenge Award

Date: 16th Apr 2019 Author: Scout Websites

A beautiful spring afternoon saw 69th Bath (Lower Weston) Scouts venture to Chelwood camp site, near Marksbury, to complete their Outdoor Challenge badge.

The Scouts put their newly acquired skills from the term to good use, cooking dinner on gas stoves and a traditional chocolate bananas feast on the campfire. A foggy, chilly start didn’t deter us from preparing bacon and beans to warm up, although custard and cornflakes was the Leaders favourite breakfast!

They then practised compass and map skills before enjoying the orienteering course around the campsite. A great start to the camping season, enjoying the beautiful countryside and woods outside Bath, and a well-deserved Challenge badge for those who came!
