Camping withthe 69th Bath Scouts at Strategy

We left year’s Strategy having decided we were definitely going to come back.  This year was no disappointment.

The same weekend as Glastonbury, Strategy is a two-day Scout festival set in Cirencester Park. Within the 20 ha grounds is a network of challenges and activities which the Scouts, Guides and Explorers visit, to gain points.  Strategy helps if you are trying to win, but success has many guises. The winning group received a trophy, but every group gained experience and resilience and had a lot of fun.

Bella, who came to Strategy for the first time this year had this to say:  ‘I really enjoyed Strategy because it was a great way to make new friends and I had a fun experience. My favourite activity was the climbing wall. The camp was great too, I especially enjoyed the disco and the fire-breathing men. One thing to improve strategy is better food!’

Our Scouts were a credit to us. Great teamwork, lovely citizens, tidy campers and they performed pretty well in the overall Strategy standings too – with our ‘Claudius’ group  ( Max, Amuri, Ruby and Stanley) coming an impressive 26th out of 336 teams!
