It’s been another strong year for the Bath 69th Scouts Group. Our young people – Cubs, Beavers and Scouts – have enjoyed an ambitious and adventurous programme of events.

As parents and carers, you will understand the educational pressures on your children and the magnetic pull of mobile phones in today’s world. Against that background, Scouting provides important respite and equips Young People with life skills that will help them both now and in the future. Hopefully, some of them will also return as future leaders.

Governance of our Group is provided by an enthusiastic and skilled Board of Trustees. This Board provides oversight of the operational activities and acts as a ‘critical friend’ helping ensure adherence to national Scouting rules. The Board currently comprises of: Sarah Milne (Group Lead Volunteer), Alice Lucas (Treasurer), Kathy Thornton, Nicky Davidson and Alex Radway (Chair). However, we are always looking for new trustees who can complement the Board with new skills, such as health & safety. We also seek a younger trustee (aged 18- 25) who can voice different perspectives.

Many thanks to those of you have been able to help our activities over the last year. This makes a big difference to our leaders, who commit significant hours each week, and I encourage you to do so – even if just for a few hours. Likewise, we always seek financial support so please sign up to easyfundraising and let us know if your employer has a matched funding scheme.

We hope to see many of you at our Family Evening and AGM on 6 June.
