Jamie Durnford taking part in the Cotswold Virtual MarathonBy Jamie Durnford, aged 11, 69th Bath Scouts

I recently took part in the virtual Cotswold Marathon. There were three distances – 10, 20 and 30 miles – but I wanted to challenge myself and try to complete the Gold marathon, which was 30 miles over nine days. I did this mostly by running – in total I ran 20 miles in six separate runs. I also walked 7 miles. I did a 10-mile cycle through the Two Tunnels, but when I got home and entered the miles into the website, it only counted for 3.33 miles in the Marathon, so I had to do more running and walking the next day to reach my target of 30 miles.

I really enjoyed this challenge, and looked forward to going out and adding more miles to my total.
