Scouts support… Relish Running Races at the Two Tunnels

Six enthusiastic Scouts, with leaders Tom and Sarah, volunteered as race crew to support the Two Tunnels February running event.
Starting at Brickfields Park, over 1000 runners set off on races from the children’s ‘colour run’ to a challenging half marathon on muddy terrain.
Our Scouts helped registration and welcoming runners, and then staffed the refreshments and medals area for finishers. Their commitment to an early Sunday start in cold and wet conditions was admirable. Thank you everyone! As well as demonstrating our support for local community, this volunteering raised essential funds for our Group.
The runners completing the race commented on how helpful our Scouts were, and appreciated the congratulations and huge pile of sugary snacks at the finish. Full marks to our crew for managing to create very creative displays of Toffee Crisps…
